    Reflection
    My prior career experience in web development aided me in understanding the basic principles of web design. What resonated with me the most was all of the steps and procedures that go into the creation or modification of an educational website. It is far different from creating a site for a business entity. There are many documents that must be created and approved such as a site charter, launch, and scheduling plan for maintenance. Professional development plans must also be established prior to site launch. One of the most influential concepts was the need for a site committee so that one person is not overwhelmed with the task of creation, decision making, and maintenance. The administrative strategy for a school website mirrors the way a school administrator should lead, create the vision collaboratively allowing meaningful dialog, and shared responsibility.

    Prior to working with the content of the course Video Technology and Multimedia, I had done some experimentation with video editing. The valuable thing about taking courses at this level is that you realize there is so much more to each technology than previously realized. I worked with Microsoft Movie Maker in completing the course project and mastered the software. I was able to share video techniques and editing with my students in the multimedia class that I teach. I have found the essential course elements perfect for my new endeavor of transitioning the classes I teach to Schoology.com. There are times that I will want to discuss or present information visually. It is a great addition to my online resources to be able to record that information for a student to review from home, or to be able to view when they return from an absence. There are so many times in teaching that we repeat the same information over and over, class to class. Video pod casting enables us to minimize repetition and allows for individual student access. I also found from presenting videos to the class that I have integrated with other videos more effective. Like most people hearing information from someone other than the presenter, seems to reinforce the message.

    to strengthen individual performancethe two week summer course I taught using exclusively Schoology.com. Setting up a course online really required me to consider the essential content that needed to be mastered. Equally important was the research of available online resources that would aid students working exclusively from home. One of the major transitions I had was the concepts setting up an environment where the students did not need me. This approach is very different from teaching in class where I am always available to fill in the workplacegaps, this time I have to consider all gaps and supply online assistance in society and to makeanticipation of a successful transitionproblem(proactive). I actually learned more about teaching my content from the creation of this course online than I had in the seven years I taught the class in person. One of the major things that I learned while creating this online course is that I was using a very outdated a follow the book approach to teaching. This upcoming school year I will use Schoology.com as my primary approach to teaching, I will move more to the workforce and/or postsecondary education.role of facilitator and really begin teaching students to become more independent in their use of technology.
